The Golf bodyshape / style definitely doesn't lend itself non-oem bodykits at all! The only thing that defo does suit is the Anni or R32 kit, less is more, know what I mean?

    Wink

But for the love of GOD, please don't spoil it and put a lax power snowplough kit on, ffs.

Maybe the guy was on about an anni kit in the first place?

Totally wrong!  The Mk4 is very well suited to non-OEM stuff - it's just the people who trap themselves in a world of similarity that can't see that!  Tongue Tied  There are many on here who can't stand the Euro look with equal repulse.

There are some gorgeous bodykits available for your Golf, beyond the dull OEM stuff.  Both myself and Roxioh run the Reiger full kit.  Some nicely styled kits are also made by Oettinger and by Hoefele.  One top tip when looking at kits is to avoid anything that is made in fibreglass as it will either chip badly or shatter at the slightest impact.  All the above stuff can be ordered in plastic and is respected for good fitment without lots of hassle.  Yes

Whatever you do, it's your car - modify it to please you and only you.  Smile  One thing's for sure - this place definately needs some non OEM originality.

    Wigster.

Well said Steve, I think the Reiger kit is better looking than the R32 and anni stuff, probably because they appear to be standard on this site with all the oem sheep!

What sort of look are you after? OEM or aftermarket?

If you are going down the OEM route, have a look at the R-Line stuff or the Anni kit.

If you are wanting something different, have a look at Reiger or ABT. If you are going to start looking at kits I'd deffo be going for ABS plastic over fibreglass (GRP). Fibreglass takes more time prep for spraying etc, the fitments of fibreglass kits also can be more difficult than ABS plastic, it will also crack over time and could chip easier than ABS too.

Rims? There are loads my favourites for the MK4 or 17' Santa Monica's & BBS CH.

Have a look here www.alloywheels.com just to get an idea of what's about.

If your not confident and have never done it before I would get someone to fit them for you. Ask them if you can watch how it' done so you get a bit of knowledge for your money at the same time.
