I'm with Chris, the yellow is ravetastic but you're cool enough to pull it off for now.

I so want one! Pete... Whistle

Can't say I remember Fozzy, but it may have been me?

Yes, I am rather 'on trend', to coin a Gokism, Moo - I know you girls are into that sham of a program, he's onto a good craic that fauxmosexual fella...

I might paint a few in some other colours for inter-changable fun, seeing as they're only 2 minutes to swap, but it'll be blue for the 'Ring in a few weeks, along with something else very small and as yet undecided in the same colour to accent it. Matte black badge and wrapped grille too....  and special 'Ring graphics I'll reveal to you all in Dover.

Oh, should have the Gold thing at the end of the week too!

I love what you have done to this car mate, well done

just goes to show you can do some pretty hardcore mods and not spoil the looks of the MK5Yes, still looks very subtle

realy like the wheels, there's usualy not that much appreciation for Italian wheels on a vag, makes a refreshing change from BBS

    Looks rude mike!

After seeing and hearing your car at the NW meet really sold me onto the mk5, never liked them or the 2.0l turbo units but yours has swayed me! Wink

Looking forward to the after trip pics!

Cheers Techno Boy - I think they work because they're quite a simple, classic design. Fussy doesn't work on MKVs. The main reason for them though is the weight saving.

Pete, you need to talk Moo into buying one as her broomstick, then you get to play in it too.

I see she's been moonlighting on those Orange Cinema ads, now the construction industry has gone quiet..

Don't forget, mine's a vanilla GTI good for 280-290bhp absolute tops. ED30's have the K04 and can get more like 350-360... you'll want an LSD for that though.

     PMSL!

Its the laugh that gives it awayl, Wink

My dad has the S3 @ 310 and its great to look at and sit in but handling and soul wise its not a touch on my mk4,

Your's is a differnt beast though looks sweet slammed and sounded the nuts i also know my standard 1.6 mk5 could corner long progressive bends faster than my mk4 even with all its mods just due to the understeer from trying to keep that heavy v6 nose pointing in the right direction! lol! So i imagine the gti is awesome!

Carbon badge looks great, did you use the carbon look vynal or source some proper flexible carbon sticky backed sheet. If it the real stuff could you please let me know where you sourced it from as been after some for a while to stop the goodridges eating the frame on the bike where they rub.

Just carbon vinyl, it is very thick stuff and textured too - don't get the thin, printed crap. Not sure how well it'd stand up to hose rub?

I've done a badge guide here

Sounds ace as usual Mike! All in all another successful trip!

off topic - the issues i was having have now cleared oddly. The car had been sat for a few days, which is unusual for me, so i guess thats why!

The 'Ring was amazing, 2nd time she's been there now and the difference in the way the car performed with its new mods was night and day. It only had the coils/ARBs/WALK/stage1 first time out.

It got some very positive comments from everyone who come out for a passenger lap in it, I let Tabs drive a lap and he seemed very impressed too.

Saturday afternoon when we arrived I just went out for a couple of 'feeler' laps, the new surfacing they've done is very good indeed, certainly improves the feel and lets you explore the grip more.

Sunday was only downside in the afternoon as it rained for a hour, it was fine when wet, but when it was drying/greasy, I was overheating the tyres a bit on corner exits and the blocks were shifting about causing vibration. Bah!

By Monday it was blistering sunshine in the 20's, I was getting faaar too cocky and had to pack it in, before I did something daft!

Votex have set the car up exactly as suits my style and I dare say with bigger balls and more talent, it'd be capable of showing some more exotic stuff a clean pair of heels. The 'Ring isn't the place to explore that yet for me, but I think I'll be on the familiar tarmac of Oulton next month for a blast and add to its kill list some more.

I failed on the roof stripe's arial cut, hot weather and hours outside to blame - so I saw my arse, ripped it off and went for a few easy touches instead...

Sorry to Gaz BTW who got burnt helping me.
